It has been many moons since I laid my eyes on my beloved and my little one. I think about them often, little Scott and my dear wife Mary. When I took this adventure carrying cargo for the Sirende Fair Trade Federation no one, not even the banished gods that have forsaken me could have predicted that terrible storm that occurred that fateful night. As we made the journey toward Hellade a terrible fate befell the crew. Everything was calm, then suddenly it started storming something fierce. The ocean grew more chaotic and tempestuous than I had ever seen her. Waves larger than the mountains to the north came crashing down with the force of a wrathful giant.
I yelled for the men to pull up the sail when the sky itself opened up and graced my crew with many early graves as a bolt of lightning struck the mainmast and lit the sail aflame. The mainmast began to crack and bend in the wind. When suddenly all abyss broke loose. The mast broke free and crashed to the deck damn near tearing the ship in two. As the boat began to sink I looked to the sky hoping that I would see my family again in the afterlife, but knowing it was a false hope. Souls as innocent as theirs would never end up where I am sure to head.
I awoke with the knowledge that something had changed in the Land as I clung to a large piece of burnt wood. I looked around surrounded by the wreckage of my ship and no sign of any of my crew. I scavenged what I could including this journal and some meager supplies. As I am now I doubt my odds of survival but hope that my family may learn of my fate.
The days pass with no land in sight and I feel powerful shadows moving beneath me. Something stirs in the water of change and I am unsure whether it bodes well for the people of the Red Venom Plains.
There is a Feebleness and a Languor in me. My Mind and Body both partake of this Weakness. The sun beats overhead and my lips are cracked and dry. I see an island in the distance but it is too far for me to reach, this will be my last day upon the Land…
