Congratulations, Chaos Seed — you have survived your first adventure in The Land. Through courage, clever thinking, teamwork, and perhaps a little chaos, you have taken your first steps toward carving out your own legend within this dangerous world. Every battle fought, mystery solved, ally earned, and mistake survived has helped shape your journey. Now it is time to record the rewards of your adventure upon your character sheet: mark your earned experience, treasure, skill rewards, crafting materials, or other discoveries granted by the Auditor. These rewards represent not only your growing power, but the lasting impact your story has begun to leave upon The Land itself.
Here’s what to do now that you’ve been given that adventure code to add to your Adventure Log.
1. Open the Adventure Log tab
From the main Chaos sheet (TheLandRPG.com/chaos) use the footer button labeled Adventure Log. This tab shows the current character level, XP total, gold total, personal time total, and a list of completed adventures.
2. Add the adventure code
Use the adventure code dropdown to choose the newly awarded adventure. Once selected, add it to the log. A new adventure card will appear with that code and title. If you accidentally click the wrong one, just delete it.
3. Read the adventure entry before making choices
Each adventure entry may contain several moving parts: reward selection, affinity selection, truths revealed, optional custom rewards, and a notes area. Read the full card before clicking through it so you understand which choices are permanent.
4. Choose the reward
If the adventure offers a reward dropdown, choose the correct reward for the character. Chaos now shows a read-only reward description area directly below the reward dropdown, so players can read what the item does before confirming the choice. If the reward is gold instead of an item, the description area will note that it adds directly to the gold total.
5. Resolve any affinity choice
Some adventures allow the character to add a 25% affinity bonus to a skill. In those cases, use the dropdown labeled Select a Skill to add a 25% Affinity Bonus. The list shows the character current affinity in the format X/100% Affinity. If the choice is a subskill, Chaos displays the parent skill in parentheses.
6. Read and apply Truths Revealed
The Truths Revealed section contains any automatic or conditional follow-up effects from the adventure. Some truths are informational only. Others may require a player choice, a recipe award, an item award, or a quest-specific interaction. If a truth includes inline help buttons or a custom dropdown, resolve that part before moving on.
7. Handle quest-specific special options
Some adventures include custom UI that does not appear on every log entry. For example, certain LNTE adventures may include a Post Adventure Purchases – Limit 1 Each section. If present, review the item list, read the item blurb, confirm the character can afford the purchase, and then buy only the allowed items. Chaos will remove the gold and add the item to inventory automatically when the purchase is confirmed.
8. Use the Notes area for anything the player must remember later
The Notes box is the place to record anything that is not automatically tracked by Chaos. This can include table rulings, one-time reminders, future claims, unresolved loot details, or anything else tied to that adventure that still matters later.
9. Save the character
Once the adventure log entry and any resulting level-up changes are complete, click Save. This locks in the current state on the device and prevents the player from having to reconstruct the checkpoint later.
You can then check the “Level Up” tab to see if you gained enough experience to gain a new level.
