This bag of ancient powder feels cold to the touch, and seems to drain heat from any living creature around it. It is typically found in places haunted for extended periods of time, where the soil itself is tainted by the Death enchantments near it. This dust can be used in multiple crafting recipes, to add certain benefits associated with Death Magic. This can be used as an Active Ingredient or an Additive in many recipes. It can also be used as a substitute for Powdered Crystal. It cannot be used in any recipe that restores hit points or cures its target of a disease or other affliction.
If used in a Necrotic related Alchemical Consumable with a duration (Such as a potion of Necrotic Resistance), its duration is doubled. If used in an Necrotic related Alchemical Consumable that does damage (Such as a thrown item that does Necrotic damage), it upgrades it to a “Greater” version, doing 4 extra damage of that type.
If used as an Additive or Powdered Crystal Substitute when forging Armor, the armor gains 1 point of damage reduction to Necrotic damage. Damage reduction is applied to damage of that type, before resistance.
If used as an Additive or Powdered Crystal Substitute when forging a weapon, the weapon is enchanted with the Lesser Decayed Enchantment. When the weapon damages a target, the target additionally gains a 1d4 points of Necrotic damage per hit.
