Entangling Shot is a powerful Archery technique that combines the archer’s skill with the magic of nature, using mana to ensnare enemies and restrict their movements. With one rank in this subskill, the archer gains the Entangling Shot ability.
Entangling Shot Ability: As a bonus action, costing 25 Stamina and 25 Mana, the archer channels magical energy into their next arrow, causing it to sprout magical vines upon impact. If the archer’s next Archery attack hits a target, the target is immediately immobilized as thick vines erupt from the ground and wind around their legs. The target remains immobilized until it makes an Escape attempt, which must succeed at a difficulty equal to the damage dealt by the arrow.
The vines hold fast, making it difficult for the target to move, but they can break free if they are strong enough or if they possess the skills to escape. The effect lasts until the target successfully escapes, but in the meantime, the target is fully immobilized, unable to take movement actions.
This subskill is incredibly useful for controlling the battlefield, preventing enemies from fleeing or closing the distance. Archers who master Entangling Shot can turn the tide of a fight by neutralizing dangerous targets or buying time for their allies to act. It’s a valuable tool for both offense and tactical control, allowing the archer to pin down foes and limit their options.
These bonuses are not automatically added to the Roll20 Character Sheet, and must be added manually.
