You have learned techniques that allow you to heal others without magical influences. A body is a machine, and it can often be fixed by applying the right knowledge in the right places. A Combat Medic Subskill check can be substituted for a Medicine check when you are attempting a battlefield heal, such as stabilizing a dying creature or remove a grant advantage to a Saving Throw for a negative condition.
This Subskill has two additional benefits at Rank 1. First, whenever you heal an ally with a single target, touch Healing spell, ability, or alchemical item that heals a random amount, the target regains additional hit points equal to your ranks in this skill. This will not work on fixed hit point heals, such as Lay on Hands.
Second, if you use your action to stabilize a dying target, the target regains hit points equal to your Combat Medic subskill check, divided by 5, rounded down. This ensures that when you stabilize a target, you bring them back to consciousness, even if you aren’t using healing magic or substances. This does not work with your healing bonus as listed above, and is its own ability.
At Rank 2 of this Subskill or higher, you can stabilize a dying creature as a movement action if you wish to.
Additional perks will be unlocked at higher levels of this skill, as players approach them.
