Fletching is a Common skill, and is modified by your Endurance.
Fletching is the art of crafting and maintaining ammunition, from simple arrows to specialized bolts designed for precision and impact. Whether preparing shafts in a quiet camp or refining ammunition for battle, this skill determines the reliability, balance, and lethality of every shot you take.
A skilled fletcher understands how subtle adjustments—weight distribution, feather alignment, and material choice—can drastically affect performance. With practiced hands, you can produce ammunition that flies truer, strikes harder, and adapts to different combat situations. In a system where Accuracy matters, Fletching ensures that when you loose an arrow, it lands exactly where it needs to.
Whenever you shoot an arrow, including magical or alchemical arrows, and it misses, you have a 50% chance of recovering that arrow after combat (assuming the situation allows it). That percentage is increased by your ranks in Fletching.
As your skill in Fletching grows, you will gain additional benefits from it.
Increased Affinity: When you first attain a new title in Fletching (Initiate or Apprentice), you gain a 25% Affinity increase in either the Bowcraft, Exotic Ammunition, Fletching, or Staffmaking Skills. You can gain this affinity even if you did not have a previous Affinity Bonus or Ranks in the chosen skill.
Initiate (Ranks 10-19):
Ammunition Recovery: In addition to recovering missed ammunition, there is a 1% chance per rank in Fletching that you can recover ammunition that hit a target, but you must spend the ammunition’s sell value in Gold to repair it.
Apprentice (Ranks 20-34):
Enhanced Quiver: You may add an Enhancement Glyph to your quiver. Any arrow you pull and fire from that quiver in the same round gain a bonus to Accuracy and Damage rolls equal to the attached Enhancement Glyph.
All of these bonuses are cumulative.
