Sprites are a race of reclusive, small, slender humanoids that live in secluded communities within their natural environments. They are very in-tune with nature, and their communities and subclasses reflect the location of their communities. Wandering Sprites are sometimes an abnormality in The Land, but events in the Red Venom Plains have made it less abnormal than in other regions of the world.
As a Sprite wandering the world, most will believe you are either an outcast that wronged your community or a victim of a tragedy, and most will give you emotional distance before trusting you. Sprites have recently felt the return of Pixies to The Land, which form a soul-bond with each other. All Land-Born Sprites have an innate hatred of Goblins.
Sprites generally live to be between 400 and 600 years old, but elders of the community can live to be over 1000 years old. Sprites are very short, averaging between 3’ and 3’6; they rarely weigh more than 60lbs. They are connected to the environment of their community, but they all share certain common characteristics, such as sharp facial features, pointed ears, and eyes with pupils that are nearly transparent.
As a Chaos Seed, you may be an outcast to both non-Sprite and Sprite communities, as you will have no one to dignify your honor in either. Sprites have several subclasses that determine their specific powers; four are listed here as starting options.
Forest Sprite
Forest Sprites tend to live in heavily wooded areas. They are more wild than some of the other Sprites sometimes even being animalistic in their mannerisms. They are also more solitary. They are in tune with animals and nature, are often quick to anger and quickly discover qualities they dislike in everyone they meet. When a Forest Sprite settles into a non-Sprite community, it is often employed as a scout, trader, or mercenary, but rarely trusted for more than the coin it is paid.
Physical Description: Forest Sprites are the tallest of Sprites, sometimes reaching as tall as 4’, and occasionally weighing 75lbs. They tend to be physically stronger than other Sprites, and are quick to show that fact. Their skin ranges from tan to dark brown, and their hair is generally brown or black. Forest Sprites often wear natural jewelry that seems unfinished to the untrained eye (such as a twig in their hair), but often these items are symbolic or ritualistic. Despite their sometimes antisocial behavior, Forest Sprites can find acceptance in many non-Sprite communities across The Land.

Hill Sprite
Hill Sprites are nomadic tribes of Sprites that roam hills, grasslands and even forests, taking shelter and living off the land. They are hugely territorial, claiming wide territories, and are experts at setting traps to dissuade trespassers. Hill Sprites will always have a centralized community, surrounded by scouting parties that ensure none get close to their weak and children. Hill Sprites are sometimes found outside of their community as traders; it is not uncommon for a Hill Sprite to live among a neighboring community to broker goods between the civilizations, and of course, to spy on their neighbors. Hill Sprites are valued for their skills by those communities, but for that reason they are not easily trusted.
Physical Description: Hill Sprites are of average height and weight compared to other Sprites, but have a broader range of skin, hair and eye colors. Their skin can have many hues, including green, and their eyes sometimes go metallic, with silver or golden hues. They are expert carvers and craftsmen, and often wear intricately carved jewelry of natural materials (such a horns or rare wood).

Marsh Sprite
Marsh Sprites, more commonly Swamp Sprites, are an aquatic race of sprites that find comfort in environments generally ignored by civilizations. Marsh Sprites tend to blend into their surrounding, allowing their prey to walk right past them before attacking. It is said Marsh Sprite communities are as equally hidden by the mud and growth of their environment; travelers sometimes pass Marsh Sprite encampments without ever realizing it. Marsh Sprites rarely venture to civilized lands, and are considered uncivilized and dirty by those that do not understand their methods.
Physical Description: Marsh Sprites physically resemble the average sprite, with similar height and weight; their hair and eye color is generally darker, and their skin ranges from ashen grey to brown. However, Marsh Sprites are rarely wash, and have multiple layers of dirt and mud soaked into their skin and hair, giving them a universally grimy appearance. While this may harm their social skills, this helps them blend into the shadows, giving them a natural bonus to stealth. Marsh Sprites are generally overlooked in societies, seen as uncivilized non-Humans, and often ignored – much to their advantage.

Wood Sprite
Wood Sprites tend to live in heavily wooded areas, although some Wood Sprite communities border other territories, such as mountains or plains. These Sprites tend to be more “civilized” and less wild than their cousins, coming together in communities and living in buildings created from plants rather than living alone in the wild. Wood Sprites are also more in tune with the magics of Earth and Life than other Sprites, as it tends to cycle through their blood. Wood Sprites can channel this innate magic into their arrows.
Physical Description: Wood Sprites are average height and weight for a Sprite, and carry similar facial features. Communities often share similar features – including skin, hair or hair color, and non-Sprites often have issues distinguishing one Sprite from another. Wood Sprites have skin that ranges from ivory to dark brown, but hair that reflects natural colors, such as black, auburn, chestnut, or even fiery red. As they are often the most developed of Sprite communities, Wood Sprites usually have a local uniform or armor set produced by their community, always in colors that blend into their environment. Forest Sprites tend to believe they are better than other races (except Elves, whom they feel are their equal), and enjoy mischief and humor. Those that blend into non-Sprite communities are often welcomed for their skills and wit.
