This Subskill allows you to understand more about the local power struggles in The Land, from Kings to Chieftains. You can understand what motivates a local noble; the exploitable habits of a Goblin Tribe; or the shortages in supplies that you can sell to a village. This skill is most useful when trying to determine where any group that they interact with fits into the local political arena. A Politics Subskill check can be substituted for a History check while you are attempting to determine information about local politics or the factions within a city.
Studying Politics can also help you organize your mind in a way that fortifies it against mental fatigue. At rank 2 or higher of this skill, you also reduce all Psychic damage you take from any source by 1. This damage reduction happens before other effects, such as Resistance. The reduction increases to 2 at Rank 4, and 3 at Rank 6.
Additional perks will be unlocked at higher levels of this skill, as players approach them.
