Agriculture is a Common skill, and is modified by your Endurance.
Cooking is a versatile and rewarding crafting skill that allows characters to transform raw ingredients into extraordinary dishes imbued with magical properties. More than just a means of sustenance, Cooking offers adventurers a way to prepare powerful meals that can grant unique buffs, temporary abilities, or even provide protection against certain dangers. During Downtime, characters skilled in Cooking can use the rare and exotic ingredients they’ve gathered during their adventures—like dragon peppers, frostcap mushrooms, or enchanted beast meat—to craft recipes with incredible effects. A hearty stew might grant resistance to cold, a fiery curry could enhance a warrior’s strength, or a delicate dessert might boost a mage’s focus and spellcasting power. Cooking is an essential skill for those who wish to prepare for the challenges ahead and give their party an edge in both combat and exploration.
The art of Cooking is more than a practical skill; it’s a way to add depth and flavor to a campaign. Players can seek out rare recipes from ancient texts, trade secrets with NPC chefs, or experiment with their own culinary creations. Adventuring parties might embark on quests to find elusive ingredients, such as the eggs of a phoenix or honey from a fae-touched hive, adding an exciting layer of exploration and storytelling to their journey.
As your skill in Cooking grows, you will gain additional benefits from it.
Increased Affinity: When you first attain a new title in Cooking (Initiate or Apprentice), you gain a 25% Affinity increase in either the Baking, Cooking , or Emulsions Skills. You can gain this affinity even if you did not have a previous Affinity Bonus or Ranks in the chosen skill.
Initiate (Ranks 10-19):
Alchemical Residue: You may identify all Common Consumbale substances by sight without a check. When you use an Consumbale item that has an effect that lasts at least one minute, increase its effect duration by 10%. If you acquire this ability from another crafting skill, the bonus is cumulative.
Apprentice (Ranks 20-34):
Rapid Consumption: To you, eating is as breathing. You may consume a Consumable item that would normally require a Combat Action as a Movement Action; and may consume an item that would normally require a Movement Action as a Bonus Action.
All of these bonuses are cumulative.
