Athletics is a Common skill, and is modified by your Strength.

The Athletics skill provides bonuses to all activities involving physical exertion. Whether you’re jumping, climbing, bursting through a door, or grabbing an opponent, Athletics is your go-to skill. It is also used for general skill checks that require raw Strength. As your mastery of Athletics grows, your physical prowess becomes increasingly extraordinary.

As your skill in Athletics grows, you will gain additional benefits from it.

Initiate (Ranks 10-19):
At this rank, your muscles are centers of unrefined power. When performing a direct feat of strength—such as bending prison bars, lifting a portcullis, or kicking down a door—you may roll your Athletics check twice and use the better result. This bonus does not apply to other Athletics-related tasks, such as grappling or swimming.

Apprentice (Ranks 20-34):
As an Apprentice, your physical presence becomes a tool of intimidation. When attempting to physically intimidate an enemy, you gain a bonus to Instill Fear checks equal to your ranks in Athletics.

Journeyman (Ranks 35-59):
At the Journeyman level, routine physical tasks become effortless. When making a Survival or Construction skill check involving Strength—such as gathering firewood, building a structure, or mining—you gain a bonus to the check equal to your ranks in Athletics. Additionally, when forced to move (e.g., being pushed or shoved), the distance is reduced by 5 feet (1 square).

Adept (Ranks 60-79):
As an Adept, your mastery of physicality manifests in combat and resilience. When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon, you add bonus damage equal to 1/10th your ranks in Athletics. Furthermore, you become immune to Fatigue effects, allowing you to endure prolonged physical exertion without penalty.

Master (Ranks 80-99):
At the pinnacle of this skill, your athletic abilities become legendary. You can perform superhuman feats, such as leaping incredible distances or climbing sheer surfaces effortlessly. Your Movement Speed increases by 10 feet, and your minimum roll on any Athletics-based skill check (including its subskills) is 50, before modifiers.

All of these bonuses are cumulative.
